Welcome,
We are half way through the wedding season and who would have thought in the middle of July, I would get the chance again to go to the VW Festival in Redcar called Volkspower.
Every year I seem to get to this festival even though this is my busiest time of year for weddings!
Volkspower is organised by a man called Paul Power (hense Volkspower) and I can honestly say it is my favourite festival.
This year was better than any of the years previously because of 2 things, firstly the absolutely glorious weather and secondly the Friday headline act called ‘The Revolutionaries’. I advise anybody who gets the chance to check these guys out. The energy of the lead singer is unreal. Even I danced the night away !
This is an extremely well organised event and caters for all ages. Volkspower is also located right beside the coast so you can enjoy the festival and the beach, ideal for children.
The food is possibly the only weaker point, as the choices are limited but its only 2 days and we got by. There is a vegetarian option as well so maybe not as limited as all that! (If you read this Paul, can we have a hog roast van next year 😉
This event is getting bigger and better each year and I recommend you come along to the next Volkspower Festival as its a great weekend.
On the Sunday of any festival I always get depressed and don’t want the holiday to end. My solution is always to find a random pub and try and get Sunday Lunch. This year we found a gem, one of the nicest pubs for atmosphere and food I have been too. Can definately recommend The Vane Arms Thorpe Thewles, Stockton-on-Tees, TS21 3JU. You won’t be disappointed.
Enough of my babbling, here are some photo’s to feast your eyes on!
